- Mystic Raven and SuperC The Ensemble has had a quiet but progressive first two terms. A few new songs are being prepared and perfected for the annual concert held in Term 3, which will showcase the choir’s repertoire of classical, traditional and modern songs. The Ensemble of 2015 were lucky enough to record a CD at the SABC studios in Durban last year and that CD will finally be available to purchase next term. It features audience favourites such as Elijah Rock and Pretty Hurts, as well as the popular Hello My Baby by small group Sheppie Mambazo. The CD will be priced at R30 for PSHS staff and scholars and R50 for the general public. The Oratory Society brought home some wins in the South Coast Debating League this term, which contributed to the successful term they have had. Five PSHS students participated in the 2016 SAASTA National Schools Debating Competition in Durban, where they gave their best efforts. These students are Selunathi Dontsa (who walked away with Best Speaker of The Day), Nomcebo Zama, Luthando Ncayiyana, Mlungisi Mbutho and Yamkela Mbuthuma. The Eco Club had an inspiring Eco Week in which students toured the new greenhouse and wore green ribbons to show their support for the Environment. The Eco Club, along with some other students and teachers, have completed the construction of the greenhouse (completely made of recyclable materials!). This was exceedingly time consuming and required diligence, support and a lot of hard work. We would like to applaud them for their fantastic accomplishment! TADA has their new 2016 committee and has introduced them to us with a humorous and lively skit. Pupils wore blue ribbons in show of their support and attended the delightful performance. TADA now has their own Facebook page as well as an Instagram account (tada_2016) Go check it out!
