- Super C The 2016 PSHS Ensemble Concert, held last week Friday, saw a large crowd turn up to celebrate the gift of an evening of music. The Ensemble showcased their repertoire of songs - from an acapella rendition of Middle by DJ Snake to an upbeat performance of a traditional song, Zulu Mama. The ensemble also dedicated Baba Yetu (The Lord's Prayer in Swahili) to the du Plessis family. The show provided a wealth of entertainment by many talented musicians, with not only performances as a choir but individual items and duets, too. Unfortunately, the Ensemble said goodbye to seven matric pupils who will be dearly missed as they go on new adventures next year: Mdumiseni Zungu, Lente Venter, Sinaluthando Mkhize, Onesimo Mgwatyu, Phila Mkhwanazi, Mpendulo ‘Oops’ Mgwane and Siyavuya ‘Banana’ Mamatu.
A huge thank you goes to Mrs Wood, who put a lot of effort into arranging the show, sound and wonderful matric gifts and to Mrs Van Wyk for her top class conducting. The ensemble would also like to extend a thank you to ex-Sheppie students: Chelsea Koopman and Michael Botha for giving up their time to teach the ensemble two new songs as well as Jennifer Gillespie for her much appreciated piano accompaniment.
