- Aeron Girls from across the province came to showcase their talent in a recent tournament held on Saturday at home. There were seven teams who participated for the trophy and medals. Our girls were nervous and excited as this was the first match day of the season. The games lasted until about 2pm. Our Girls were sunburnt and exhausted but still played their hearts out. They played five games in total and won two games against Kingsway. We made it through to the semi-finals where we had to fight for third or fourth place. It was a tough game and unfortunately for us, ‘Toti’ High won that game, knocking us into fourth place.
As a team, we felt very privileged to be able to host a day like this. We are thankful for the support from our parents, teachers and peers. The ECL body showed their support by singing on the sidelines of the pool. The support was phenomenal and lifted our spirits. The team is very proud to have been placed fourth in the tournament. There was music, good food and exceptional goal scoring from all teams. Thank you to the coaches, T.K, Miss Raper and Mr Wigmore for organising this event. Our heads of school were there to hand out the trophy to the winning team, Durban Girls High School.
